How to Join
Thank you for your interest in becoming an Eagles for Children participating club. The first step in becoming an Eagles for Children club, is having your board of directors vote to accept the program into their club.
After the vote has passed, the following 5 steps will help you to successfully launch the Eagles for Children program at your club:
- An “Ambassador” is selected for your club’s Eagles for Children program. The Ambassador is a
member of your club and acts as the in-house liaison for the program. They are responsible for
communicating with the General Manager, Head Pro, accounting department and membership
regarding the program. The Ambassador can always reach out to the Eagles for Children staff and
representatives for assistance in keeping the program running smoothly.
2. Make your membership aware of the Eagles for Children program. Whether through personal
announcements at various league kick-offs, your newsletter, email or group discussions, explain
the program, its purpose, the cost to each member, and — most importantly — the enormous
impact on the children’s charities in our communities.
3. Let your members know that they will be billed $2 for every eagle scored and reported to the
pro shop, unless they opt out. Members have the option to increase their per eagle tax-deductible
pledge at any time throughout the season by notifying the accounting department. Encourage your
membership to increase their pledge amount throughout the year.
4. Have players report their eagles to either the first tee or the pro shop. We recommend that the pro
shop consolidate the data and report the total eagles scored each month to the accounting
department. It is similar to how “Holes in One” are kept (which, incidentally, are also eagles).
5. Begin recruiting and developing your club’s Eagles for Children committee. This committee will be
responsible for reviewing the grant applications and working together at the close of the grant
season to determine which charities will receive the grants from your club.
