Eagles for Children supports The Guidance Center and their mission to nurture development, foster resilience, and cultivate well-being. The Guidance Center used funds given through Eagles for Children by Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club to host its first ever Cool Cuts, Styles, and Smiles event, where children received haircuts from local hair professionals and then had the opportunity for professional photos.

This event was created after a Guidance Center therapist recognized that many clients’ families were not able to afford regular haircuts or school photos. The goal of this event was to give children the opportunity to improve their confidence with a new haircut, and then, while they are feeling their best, capture the moment with a professional image as a keepsake for themselves and their families.

One mom of three arrived at the event saying each of her young girls carefully and excitedly picked out their favorite outfits to be pictured in. After receiving the bangs she always wanted, the girl pictured to the right hopped out of the chair in sheer excitement and exclaimed she was ready for her pictures!
