Thanks to the generous support of Bloomfield Hills Country Club, Edgewood Country Club, and Oakland Hills Country Club, scholarships were provided to individuals with special needs, allowing them to participate in a memorable and enriching five-week summer camp experience through Clarkston SCAMP.
In 2025, SCAMP welcomed 200 campers, affectionately known as “SCAMPers,” and celebrated its 50th anniversary with a continued commitment to offering inclusive and engaging programming. Camp activities included innovative art and music classes, motor skills development, community field trips, and weekly visits to county parks for swimming, hiking, fishing, and boating.
For five decades, SCAMP has served Northern Oakland County and surrounding communities, providing vital recreational and social opportunities for children and young adults with special needs. Since its founding in 1975, no applicant has ever been turned away, regardless of financial ability, age, or behavioral and medical needs.
Support from Eagles for Children has played a key role in sustaining this commitment. SCAMP’s inclusive philosophy and community-centered programming reflect the very mission of Eagles for Children: to create meaningful opportunities for children facing adversity.
As the 2025 session comes to a successful close, SCAMP looks ahead to the 2026 season with unwavering dedication to its founding values of inclusion, acceptance, and comprehensive support. The continued partnership with Eagles for Children helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow, connect, and thrive, no matter their challenges.
